Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has appointed two non-executive directors following two retirements from its board.

Noel Harwerth, previously chief operating officer for Citibank International (London) and chief tax officer for Citibank New York, and Malcolm Le May, currently president (Europe) of real estate asset management company JER Partners, are the two new directors.

Harwerth and Le May replace Stephen Hill and Susan Hooper, who have both retired from the board, with immediate effect.

R&SA said the two appointments, coupled with the appointment of George Culmer as chief financial officer from May 2004, and the appointments of John Maxwell and Edward Lea, completed the reshaping of the company's board, which was announced at its AGM.
