Motor manufacturer Renault will not renew an affinity deal with RBS after selecting Equity as its new insurance partner.

It is the latest in a string of affinity deals announced by the broker, which included partnerships with budget airline RyanAir, motor manufacturer Chevrolet, and Skipton Building Society.

As part of the deal, Equity will offer Renault buyers a free seven-day insurance scheme when the car is bought. Equity will also guarantee a two year fixed fee premium underwritten by the company.

Equity sales director David Birch said Equity could now claim to be the fifth largest private motor insurer in the UK market. A further five affinity deals will be announced in coming months, one with a major high street bank which is expected to go live in December.

Birch said: "People are looking for new partners and they are moving away from the bigger players.

"We have won a lot of these contracts because we are able to offer a one-stop shop for insurance.

"Being able to offer free insurance deals with companies like Renault is a major achievement and reflects our ability to respond quickly."

The partnership will span three years.
