The Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) has appointed Bill Rendall as head of underwriting and claims.

Rendall will take up the newly-created role from 14 June 2004. The position was created to give underwriters a stronger and more effective role with the franchisor, said the LMA.

Rendall joined R J Kiln & Co in 1973 becoming active underwriter of Syndicates 510 and 557 in 1992.

He retired from Kiln in 2002 having also served as chairman of the Non-Marine Association from 1999 to 2000 and as a director of the former Lloyd's Business Development Unit.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
