RFIB Group RFIB), the international Lloyd's insurance and reinsurance broker, has recruited a new energy team.
Headed by Jonathan Lyne, the team has expertise in both the onshore and offshore sectors.
Its activities are expected both to complement RFIB's existing marine accounts which include a strong presence in energy-related cargo business and the Group's geographical strengths, particularly in the Middle East.
The move follows RFIB's announcement in February 2006 that as part of its continued expansion in the Middle East Region it has established a representative office at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) headed by former British Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Anthony Harris.
Patrick Holcroft, Group chief executive, said: “Our strategy is to develop our international activities in areas where we have specialist expertise and to ensure that we have the teams to provide ever greater breadth and depth of expertise as the business grows. Building our energy presence is a logical next step for the Group.”
