Bermuda-based Alea Group Holdings has named Mark L Ricciardelli as group president and chief operating officer.
Ricciardelli will join the reinsurance and specialty insurance company with immediate effect.
The appointment is in line with the group's stated intention to expand its management team following an IPO in November 2003.
Prior to his appointment, Ricciardelli was president and chief executive of global casualty for General Electric's Employers Reinsurance Corporation.
Ricciardelli will have responsibility for implementing strategies to grow the business, said the company.
