Jim Clark, chairman and chief executive of SBJ is to retire from the board

Jim Clark, currently chairman and chief executive of SBJ is to retire at his request from the boards of SBJ Group and SBJ.

The company said Clark will remain a consultant on expansion opportunities until 31 December 2008.

Howard Steeples, currently chairman and chief executive of SBJ UK will take responsibility at SBJ Group for all insurance broking operations.

Steeples will become chairman of both SBJ and SBJ UK and will chair the management committee of each company.

Simon Rice, currently managing director of SBJ's international property division, will be appointed chief executive of SBJ, our London market broking company. He will take responsibility for all of SBJ's operations and will report to Howard Steeples.

David Pexton, managing director of agency services division will take the additional responsibility of managing director, international property division.

Howard Fryer, currently regional managing director responsible for New Malden UK and Gravesend, is to be appointed chief executive of SBJ UK.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
