Reg Brown, who recently announced he is handing over the pen as active underwriter of RE Brown syndicate (702), is appointed managing director of the new parent company, Markel Syndicate Management, following a board room shake up.
The promotion is due to the departure of Nigel Rogers, president and chief executive, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.
As a result, Anthony F Markel, in addition to his other duties, will become president of Markel International.
Jeremy Cooke will continue as chief operating officer of Markel International.
