The St. Paul has restructured its professional indemnity team, rebranding it St. Paul Professions, in a move which it said would improve product and service delivery to policyholders and supporting brokers.

St. Paul Professions will bring together underwriting and support activities targeting selected professions including solicitors, architects, design and construction firms, chartered surveyors and advertising agencies, said the company.

Following the changes, Paul Cusition will remain general manager for financial and professional services, while Jon Davies has been promoted to assistant general manager for financial and professional services and will head the 20-strong unit, said The St. Paul.

The St. Paul's PI risk management services will now be extended to other PI policyholders.

Davies said rolling out the service would help other professions to tighten up their business practices and reduce their exposure to claims.

As part of the changes, senior D&O underwriter Nigel Tocknell will join The St. Paul, said the company. Prior to the move, Tocknell spent 16 years at Zurich.

Communications manager Richard Gerrard will take on a wider marketing and communications role for the restructured department, while Olivia Burren and Tim Prior will head a team of four solicitors providing risk management services to lawyers, architects, surveyors, estate agents and company directors, said The St. Paul.
