Move follows criticism that Staysure is freezing agents out of holiday bookings

Staysure is reaching out to travel agents to form referral partnerships, according to travel trade website TravelMole.

The move follows criticism from some agents that the insurance broker was freezing them out of holiday bookings they had worked on.

But Staysure Travel managing director Allie Westall told the site that the problem stems from the growing trend of comparison shopping.

“It’s a symptom of modern day consumerism, where customers shop around to get the best deal. It’s the modern way of doing things,” she said.

“It’s not that we’re knowingly trying to undermine anyone. We know what it’s like to have business go elsewhere and we often spend a lot of time working on travel and insurance quotes for a customer, who then goes elsewhere,” Westall told TravelMole.
“We respect the work done by agents and in the spirit of partnership, I would urge them to speak to our partnership team.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
