The ABI has announced the appointment of Stephen Haddrill as its director general in succession to Mary Francis. He will take up his position on 3 May.
The ABI said Haddrill was currently director general, Fair Markets Group at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). He has extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, it said.
Haddrill spent much of his career at the DTI, before that he held senior posts in the central policy unit in Hong Kong and the Department of Energy.
