SVB Holdings said it has appointed a former Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) team to its specialist liability subsidiary Novae Underwriting.

Stuart Quinlan has been appointed to the newly created post of underwriting development director for Novae.

In addition, Dominick Rodgers and Gail Cook have been appointed to develop the Scotland and Southern regions respectively.

All three previously worked for R&SA’s ProFin division.

Quinlan will lead both the regional underwriting team and the existing London-based specialist regional underwriting team, headed by Lindsay Noble and Jeremy Cottle, said the company.

Quinlan will also be working closely with Bill Edrich in developing the regional Medical Malpractice account. They will be supported by a bespoke, web-based IT infrastructure designed to give brokers enhanced quotation delivery and policy documentation processing, said the company.

Novae chief executive Peter Matson said: “The appointments of Stuart, Dominick and Gail demonstrate that Novae is committed to deliver on the planned expansion of its regional underwriting capability.

“They all have enviable reputations for professionalism and technical ability, the areas of strength that Novae and SVB trade on.
