Travel Insurance Facilities has promoted Richard Smith to the position of underwriting and commercial director.
Smith's promotion to the travel insurance services provider's board has been welcomed by the company's managing director, Darryl Helliwell, who commented: “From day one Richard has made a significant contribution to the day-to-day running of the business and his promotion to director and place on the board is fully deserved. He has not only developed a profitable book of travel insurance business but also led a series of projects that have delivered important bottom line results for the group.
“TIF's recent restructuring, in which Richard played a prominent role, has given us the ideal platform for future growth and I am looking forward to working with him and the rest of the TIF group team to realise our ambitions.”
In his new role, Smith will be responsible for systems automation, IT and change management, product development, marketing, company strategy and development, as well as his day-to-day underwriting and broker liaison responsibilities.
