Travel money and services provider Travelex has teamed up with Atlas International Rescue to launch Travelsolve Assistance.
GE Financial Insurance Europe, one of the UK's travel insurance providers, has signed up as Travelex's first customer.
Travelex claims this made Travelsolve Assistance immediately the UK's largest independent assistance service.
Services available include a bed to bed repatriation service using air ambulances, medical assistance, access to multi-lingual staff day and night, legal assistance and cover for loss and theft of belongings, among others.
Travelex spokeswoman Melanie Ankers said: "The launch of Travelsolve Assistance is a significant advance in the provision of concierge and medical assistance services.
"While we're setting new standards of service, far higher than anything else available within the UK, Travelsolve Assistance remains competitively priced against less comprehensive services.
"The only way we could start out as the biggest service provider was to attract a company of the stature of GE Financial Insurance Europe. They have tested Travelsolve Assistance rigorously and are confident that it meets the very high standards they rightly demand for their customers."
