A Southampton employment tribunal is expected to give its ruling tomorrow, (Friday) in two unfair dismissal cases brought by former Folgate Insurance employees.

Nine former Folgate employees had lodged claims against the Dorset-based insurer when the hearing opened on Monday.

But by Tuesday only two of the original nine were left at the hearing in Southampton.

Of the nine original applicants, six were alleging unfair dismissal, two that Folgate had failed to pay compensation awarded by an earlier tribunal, and one applicant alleged both unfair dismissal and non-payment of compensation.

Folgate, owned by the German insurance group Wüstenrot & Württembergische, made 30 personal lines staff redundant last November.
