Whittington Group has appointed Simon Birch as chief operating officer to lead the Group's Asia Pacific expansion plans from its Singapore headquarters.
Birch joins Whittington from Axa, where he was Asia head of partners and direct business in Singapore.
The company said Birch will be key to the group's growth around Asia, overseeing current projects and identifying other areas of opportunity for Whittington around the region.
Tony Hobrow, Whittington chief executive, said: “We have ambitious expansion plans for the Asia Pacific region."
“Our aim is to build a business in the region that will include partnership investment in insurance enterprises, purchase and management of run off portfolios, and support services for which we already have an internationally recognised reputation and track record.”
