XL Capital has appointed Joseph Henry as its executive vice president and global controller of XL Global Services.

Henry will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and planning, accounting, budgeting and financial analysis.

Previously Henry was executive vice president at Meadowbrook Insurance Group. Prior to that he was vice president of finance and administration for the Hanover Insurance Company.

XL's chief financial officer Jerry de St. Paer said: "We are very pleased to have someone of Joe's experience take on this new role. Joe has a wealth of knowledge and insight within the insurance industry that will be very valuable to XL."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
