Zurich Financial Services has signed a deal to be the exclusive insurance provider for Deutsche Bank in Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
The companies have also agreed on a business swap.
Zurich will acquire 100% of Bonfinanz, the fourth largest independent distributor of financial services in Germany in exchange for Zurich's asset management business.
Swiss insurer Zurich expects to raise net proceeds of $700m (£492m).
