Motorbike broker wins plaudits for scheme

Carole Nash is giving away crash protectors to policyholders taking out comprehensvie policies.

The offer is valid for bikers taking out a comprehensive policy with protectors – or ‘bungs’ – which minimise crash damage to motorcycle frames and fairings available for over 200 models. The protectors can significantly cut repair costs and even prevent the need to make a claim.

The initiative, launched in conjunction with renowned protector manufacturer R&G, has been prasied by Superbikes’ magazine.

Explaining the thinking behind the promotion Carole Nash’s head of marketing Rebecca Donohue said: “Bikers get high quality, leading brand crash protectors absolutely free which can not only minimise the cost of any accident claim but even prevent the need to claim. For bikers that can, of course, mean retention of prized no claims discounts and for insurers it means minimisation or elimination of claim costs. For Carole Nash it not only incentivises bikers to choose our products but underpins brand values which we constantly strive to promote and forges stronger empathetic relationships with both our customers and underwriters.”

Andy Hill, head of motorcycle underwriting at Equity Red Star, agreed saying: “This is a highly imaginative scheme which in promoting Carole Nash simultaneously provides bikers with something for nothing and, more than that, something which is both useful and valuable to them and to the underwriter who can expect to see a reduction in claims costs. It’s a genuine win-win and one which demonstrates the value a pro-active broker can bring to an insurer.”
