The CII said its Certificate in Insurance examinations, held for the first time in April, were a success, with a near 100% pass rate in two subjects and an 80% pass rate for the examinations overall.

The CII said a total of 392 candidates achieved sufficient credit to complete the certificate and apply to use ‘Cert CII' after their names.

CII qualifications director Lucy Courtenay said: “These results demonstrate that the certificate has really made its mark. Candidates are obviously engaged with the subject matter and are preparing extremely well for the exam as their results clearly demonstrate.

“The certificate was designed to provide an industry-wide standard through the ‘Cert CII' designation for people who want to gain a broad understanding of insurance principles, key disciplines and products. We couldn't have asked for a better start.”

In addition, 355 candidates passed the Foundation Insurance Test (FIT), eight completed the Diploma in Insurance and 28 completed the Advanced Diploma in Insurance, said the CII.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
