The insurance broker at the centre of the Spitzer investigation, Marsh & McLennan, has suspended four high-ranking employees.

The New York attorney general filed a civil complaint against Marsh last Thursday questioning its use of placement service agreements and accusing it of bid rigging.

Executive director of marketing at Marsh Global Broking, William Gilman; and his daughter, Samantha Gilman, managing director of the company, have faced suspension pending further inquiries.

Senior vice president in Marsh Global Broking's excess casualty division, Greg Doherty, and brokerage executive, Edward McNenney, have also been suspended.
