Mayflower Underwriters has appointed insurance technology providers Sequel to transfer its underwriting system to the newly developed Eclipse system.
The Eclipse component, developed by Sequel, provides a processing, management, and administration solution for London market companies, Lloyd's agents and brokers.
The search for a system that could cope with the growing pressures of the trading and regulatory environment for underwriters led to the development of the programme.
The component will allow users within Mayflower to make informed, real time decisions about their underwriting.
It will also enable the underwriters to electronically receive its transactions securely for both closings and claims.
Mayflower director Anthony Willsher sees Eclipse as a fundamental part of the company's future growth.
He said: “We must have access to information to keep pace with an underwriting environment that is increasingly demanding, a system that keeps firmly in line with pressing regulatory issues.
“That's a big challenge –but we have found a cutting-edge, flexible system in Eclipse that meets the challenge.”
