Allianz Holdings scoops new chief operating officer

Allianz Holdings has appointed Ashish Patel as its new chief operating officer, effective from this month, July 2022.

Patel will be responsible for overseeing both operations and technology. This includes Allianz’s transformation programme, which aims to deliver the best service and digital experience for customers.

He will also join the Allianz Holdings executive committee.

Colm Holmes, Allianz Holdings chief executive, said: “The experience and insight he will bring to our business puts us in a fantastic position to achieve our transformation ambitions.”

Diversity and inclusion commitment

Patel has worked for the Allianz Group for nine years in total, having previously held the position of head of Allianz Technology India.

Most recentlyhe led the Global Delivery Network for Allianz Technology as its head, where he was responsible for overseeing branches in India, Spain, and Thailand. He has also held roles at Allianz Technology as its chief executive for India and director for application development and maintenance. 

Before joining Allianz, Patel had a long career in the banking sector this included six years as director at Barclays Bank India in several senior roles – including head of infrastructure and delivery and head of information technology.
