Gallagher has appointed Adam Stafford as chief operating officer for its specialty division.

Stafford will join the business in September this year be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, with a focus on technology, digital innovation and strategic development as the business continues to expand.
He brings over 25 years London market experience to the role, having spent the last decade as COO of UK and international at BMS.
Before BMS, he worked at Lloyd’s of London, where he drove market reform, spearheaded technology initiatives and led operational change.
‘Deep knowledge’
In his new role, Stafford will report to Sarah Lyons, chief executive at Gallagher Specialty, and become part of Gallagher’s operations leadership team.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
