What was your insurance industry highlight of 2025?
Chairing the Carpenters Group roundtable in September. Hosting such an influential event was a privilege, bringing together leading voices from across the industry to discuss improvements to the OIC Portal. Our shared goal was clear – make the portal work better for customers, insurers and the wider industry.
Evidence shows that in its current form it cannot deliver on its original objectives. It takes 30% longer to run cases on OICP than it did on the MOJ Portal. The roundtable created a space for strong opinions and constructive debate, ultimately reaching consensus on practical recommendations for change.
It was a proud moment for collaboration and advocacy, reinforcing our commitment to driving positive reform for all stakeholders. Can I also mention that being chosen as an iCAN role model for my stand on social mobility was also very special.

What is your Christmas message for your insurance colleagues?
As the world grows more demanding and complex, it’s easy to feel divided. My message is simple – let’s rise above the chaos and focus on what truly matters – our customers.
I do and have always believed in genuine collaboration. Our industry is full of talented, passionate people and together we can achieve incredible things. This festive season, take time to appreciate colleagues, share ideas and strengthen connections.
By working collectively, we can overcome challenges and create solutions that benefit everyone. Wishing you all peace, joy and renewed energy for the year ahead. I hope we can make 2026 a year of unity and progress for the insurance industry. Collaboration is the key if we really mean it.
What do you hope to find under the industry’s Christmas tree for 2026?
Top of my wish list? Meaningful OIC reforms in 2026 – something I’ll keep championing for until change happens. Beyond that, I hope to see continued investment in talent and social mobility. Everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their families, but that often requires support and access.
As an industry, we have the resources and influence to make a real difference and we really are doing that more now. Walking the talk. I hope that we use that power to nurture future leaders, open doors for underrepresented groups and give back to our communities. If 2026 brings progress on these fronts, it will be a gift that benefits us all. My life motto is, kindness is free, spread that everywhere.
