The new hire’s knowledge is ‘essential’ for the underwriter’s business development strategy

Jackson Lee Underwriting (JLU) has appointed Geoff Chapman as non-executive director.

The hire aligns with the business’ ambition to develop its accident and health product portfolio – this includes the Biba Holiday Travel and Sports Travel schemes, as well as the group’s personal accident offering to insurance brokers.

Chapman brings over 40 years of insurance experience to the role – 30 of which were in senior positions in accident and health (A&H) at underwriters including CNA, Arch and Tokio Marine.

Most recently, he was class underwriter of A&H for DTW 1991 at Lloyd’s. Prior to this role, he was chief underwriter of personal accident and travel insurance at Tokio Marine Europe Insurance.

Nick Mohan, joint managing director of Jackson Lee Underwriting, said: “Geoff has had an enviable and successful career specialising in the accident and health and travel market.

“His deep knowledge of this evolving market, particularly in the Lloyd’s and London market, is essential for our business strategy as we work to deliver further innovative solutions to our insurance broker partners.”

Chapman added: “I’m delighted to be joining Jackson Lee Underwriting. It’s a business I have known for over 10 years and as an MGA that has been in the market for nearly 30 years, it has a solid and enduring reputation.

“The company’s ethos, professionalism and commitment to delivering innovative solutions to insurance broker partners has seen it flourish.

“I look forward to helping the business grow its A&H specialism and playing a part in supporting the management team in the MGA’s ongoing success.”
