The candidate is ‘one of the brightest new talents in the market’, says chief executive
International (re)insurance MGA Rokstone, part of Aventum Group, has promoted Ian Anson to managing director.
Anson joined the group last year as portfolio manager and has levelled up in just 18 months.
Before joining Aventum, he spent six years at Alesco Risk Management Services. At Alesco, he was initially a placing broker for four years before being promoted to associate partner in 2017.
In his new role, Anson will work closely with Rokstone’s chief executive and chief underwriting officer to help deliver profitable growth across the group.
James Potter, chief executive of Rokstone, said: “When Ian joined us just 18 months ago to take up a portfolio manager role, we knew then that we were securing one of the brightest new talents in the market.
“He has already delivered multiple commercial growth opportunities and aptly demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities.
“It was soon clear to us that his advanced commercial, strategic and critical thinking would make him the perfect candidate.
“As managing director, he will be a driving force on our journey to become the best global (re)insurance specialty business in the world.”
Rokstone has offices in the UK, Europe, USA, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. It currently underwrites $500m (£361m) gross written premium in several speciality lines, including marine, terrorism and political violence, direct and facultative property, as well as treaty property, construction and engineering and liability.
