Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, promotions and leadership changes from 25 to 29 August 2025
Starting the week, Allianz confirmed that Nicola George, managing director at its personal broker division, would depart the business in October 2025.
George moved into the role from LV= in May 2024, where she was tasked with launching Allianz Personal Broker into the personal lines market.
Aon then promoted Tom Anderson to head of professional services within its London-based Global Broking Centre.
Anderson first joined Aon in 2023 as an executive director, leading its design and construction professional indemnity team. In his new role, he will focus on strategic advisory, operational efficiency and client service delivery across professional services broking.
Meanwhile, Miller appointed Paul Cumberland as its first chief broking officer.
Cumberland, who most recently worked at Howden as executive director, will oversee strategic market engagement, data-driven innovation and service enhancements at the broker. He brought more than 25 years of industry experience across senior roles at Aon, Markel and Marsh.
Crawford and Company named Simon Jeffery as head of client services for its international operations.
Based in London, Jeffery reports to international chief client officer Wayne Manning and focuses on strengthening client relationships at executive level, driving innovation and enhancing cross-market collaboration.
Rounding off the week, Westfield Specialty International strengthened its claims leadership with the hire of Melanie Gilbert as head of third party claims.
Gilbert, formerly senior counsel at Markel, will lead a team managing complex and high value claims and report to interim director of operations and head of claims, Katie MacGregor.
