’Development needs to keep pace with real work and for too long continuing professional development has been seen as a ‘tick box’ exercise with repetitive topics and content that’s hard to fit around busy days,’ says chief executive
Insurance training and development provider Wiser Academy has launched a free professional development digital platform.

Called Everwise, the platform provides short-form learning modules intended to fit into the working day, with content designed to support regular, consistent development rather than infrequent, end-of-year completion.
In these modules, learning is broken down into ’minis’, covering topics in under five minutes.
Each mini finishes with a three-question check to reinforce understanding and support evidence of learning.
Crescens George, chief executive at Wiser Academy, said: “Development needs to keep pace with real work and for too long continuing professional development (CPD) has been seen as a ‘tick box’ exercise with repetitive topics and content that’s hard to fit around busy days.
“Everwise supports more consistent learning by making content easier to access and complete and gives employers better visibility of skills development and progression.”
Future developments
Everwise will feature close to 1,000 minis, which will be added over the next 12 months.

These will cover both essential knowledge and emerging issues that do not typically make it into standard training libraries – from greenwashing and silent risk to parametric insurance.
George added: “The way we consume media has changed, with people now much more comfortable with short-form, bite sized information.
”To get the best out of our people, the industry needs to adapt its approach to development to reflect these changes and that’s exactly how we’ve designed Everwise to work.”
