The new support framework tackles ‘the clear challenge’ brokers face in ’bringing new people into the industry, equipping them with the skills they need and keeping them for the long term,’ says chief executive
Hedron Network has launched Hedron People, a support framework to help independent brokers attract new talent, develop existing teams and retain key staff.

According to Hedron Network analysis, around 200 partner firms found that brokers are actively hiring, but only one in five has a long-term plan for recruitment, development and succession.
The new programme is designed to address and tackle these challenges by giving brokers access to learning and development resources, as well as a suite of staff support initiatives.
Duncan Pagan, chief executive at Hedron Network, said: “Our brokers consistently tell us that a shortage of talent is one of their biggest barriers to growth.
”Hedron People is about taking practical steps – helping them attract new talent while ensuring the people already in their businesses are developed and supported.
”Many brokers have had frustrating and costly experiences with recruiters and struggle to find candidates who combine technical knowledge with customer-facing skills. Bringing through the next generation and upskilling existing employees is critical to sustainable growth.”
What does it provide?
As part of the programme, Hedron has expanded its online learning environment, Hedron Academy, which covers technical content and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), time management, effective leadership and handling difficult customer calls via live and on-demand sessions.

Meanwhile, Hedron have also invested in an Aspiring Managers programme, an initiative to develop high-performing account executives, and partnered with Wiser Academy to open up apprenticeship and qualification pathways.
It also provides access to dedicated insurance talent partner The Elite Better Way, which offers insurance recruitment support, workforce planning, career pathway support and interview process design.
Pagan added: “Every broker we speak to wants to grow, but the conversation inevitably comes back to people.
”There is a clear challenge in bringing new people into the industry, equipping them with the skills they need and keeping them for the long term. With Hedron People we’re backing our partner brokers with support on each of these three fronts.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
