Insurance service provider Rebus iS has unveiled a new broking solution designed to meet the needs of medium-sized to large intermediaries.

Brokasure Enterprise was developed in conjunction with a consortium of nine major Rebus insurance customers, to ensure the product was tailored to the requirements of insurance intermediaries.

The system is powered by Oracle and runs on Windows NT/2000. It can be used alongside the Rebus Enterprise Accounts system, which helps to speed up accounting processes.

Brokasure's other three functional elements include risk input, details of business associates and a statistics data warehouse.

Rebus claims it can now automate the entire insurance lifecycle, from quotes to claims.

The Rebus consortium of brokers comprises Alexander Forbes, Robert Fleming Insurance Brokers, HSBC Insurance Brokers, Denis M Clayton, Tyser, Houlder Insurance Brokers, JK Buckenham, Rattner MacKenzie and Alwen Hough Johnson.

Alexander Forbes Group IT director Simon Coleman said: "We are very excited about this new product.

"Many solutions available on the market today run on outdated platforms, making them very inflexible and cumbersome to run.

"Brokasure Enterprise embraces new technologies and exactly reflects the way large brokers operate."

Rebus spokesman Gary Lowrey said: "Thanks to the cooperation of nine of our customers, Brokasure automates every possible aspect of an international broker's business."

Rebus has 600 employees and an annual turnover of almost £50m.

It specialises in providing IT solutions for the London Market, international property and casualty and reinsurance.
