Rock band Foo Fighters have settled a four-month lawsuit

Foo Fighters settle claim

Rock band the Foo Fighters have settled a four-month lawsuit against insurers for concerts cancelled in the wake of the Bataclan terrorist attack.

The band was suing multiple defendants, including several Lloyd’s insurers and broker Robertson Taylor.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but after the settlement was announced, the Los Angeles judge hearing the case dismissed the claim “with prejudice”, which means the band can’t refile the case.

The Foo Fighters claimed their insurers denied them compensation for concerts cancelled following the Paris attacks in November last year, and for earlier cancellations because band leader Dave Grohl broke his leg in June 2015.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
