Ian Ritchie does compliance as well.

Backchat, never more aptly named, has uncovered its cheekiest titbit yet in the form of a nude golf calendar with an insurance guru posing as Mr October.

Ian Ritchie, director of compliance consultancy RWA Group and former managing director of Foreman Bassett Insurance Brokers (sold to Stuart Alexander in 2000), posed on the green wearing no more than golf shoes and argyle socks – thankfully holding a cap to protect his modesty.

Eleven mainly middle-aged and sun-starved men were snapped for the calendar earlier this month at the Rose Bowl golf course in Southampton, all in the name of charity.

Money raised from the calendar will go to the Geoff Smith Foundation, which provides a free holiday villa in Spain for people with multiple sclerosis.

The calendar was brought to our attention by Hana Fincher, a director of broker Savage & Bullock. “I definitely know it’s him,” her email said, “because he is my dad!”

So, Hana, is it going in the family album?

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
