The Financial Services National Training Organisation (FS NTO) has awarded partial accreditation to Alexander Forbes, for reaching the standards required by the GISC for the Accreditation of Training Schemes.

Alexander Forbes is the first intermediary to be awarded accreditation by the FS NTO.

The company has launched an Internet based learning platform for its UK Risk Services business. This ensures that training and continuing professional development (CPD) procedures are in place for its one thousand UK staff, and that these are backed by a comprehensive record keeping system.

This infrastructure provides a sound basis for Alexander Forbes in its on-going commitment to meeting all aspects of GISC's Training and Competence requirements.

Accreditation provides a good quality framework for GISC members and for training providers to work to, with benchmarking against agreed criteria.

FS NTO GISC development manager Kate Davison said the announcement that the FSA would eventually take over responsibility for general insurance regulation had actually increased interest in accreditation, as organisations recognised it as a good way of making sure best practices were in place.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
