Belfor-Relectronic plans to establish nine new branches across the UK during 2002, to meet perceived demand for a damage management company that provides a local service with national resources.

The company has already grown from 3 to 15 branch offices since 1997, through both acquisition and organic growth. Last year, it opened offices in Nottingham and Rochester and expanded the size of its Dublin and Cardiff offices.

The expansion plans for 2002 include the opening of branches in Newcastle, Belfast and Plymouth with additional locations to be confirmed in North Scotland, West Ireland, The Borders, North Wales, East Anglia and West London.

Belfor-Relectronic said its strategy of having a local presence, backed by national strength, had led to it being the preferred or approved contractor to leading adjusting companies and numerous insurers in the UK.

It added that this was now the expectation of insurers and loss adjusters.

Belfor-Relectronic will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2002. It provides services following a fire, flood or explosion and helps companies with contingency planning, risk management and staff training in the event of an incident.

The company is part of Belfor International, which has over 100 offices in 22 countries around the world and over 3000 permanent employees.

Belfor's parent company is Haniel. Established in 1756, Haniel is a private company that employs 41,000 people in 30 countries and has a turnover of £13bn.
