Tim Wallis, chairman at Crutes Law Firm and Mark Harvey partner at Hugh James Solicitors, have been appointed as members of the Civil Justice Council by Lord Falconer of Thoroton, The Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs and Lord Chancellor.
Wallis, a founder member of the Council, has been reappointed for a second term of office.
Both Harvey and Wallis' involvement, as members, will include attending quarterly meetings to discuss and agree formal consultation papers.
Tim Wallis said: "It is exciting to be actively involved at national level in the major issues of the day, be they the “compensation culture” or more technical questions such as legal costs. Certain aspects of Lord Woolf's reforms are successfully embedded, but work remains to be done in other areas, for example, fixed costs and the use of IT in the courts."
