Two of the four underwriters recently made redundant by Lloyd's managing agent DP Mann have now joined Impact Underwriting, the service company behind Syndicate JHA 1607.

John Grunert and Keith Bowden, part of DP Mann's personal accident department until the agent decided to pull out of personal accident, travel and motor last December, will assist in underwriting Impact's PA and health business.

Colleague Peter Coles and household underwriter Ed Brookfield also lost their job's following DP Mann's shake-out.

JHA 1607, part of the Creechurch underwriting group, now hopes to extend its internet system to deliver accident and health products to its

customers.

Impact managing director Graham Sims said: "These two individuals bring a valuable contribution to the operation. They are particularly experienced in affinity group and scheme business."

Jonathan Thomas, active underwriter of JHA 1607, added: "It's almost an embarrassment of riches to be able to assemble this depth of underwriting talent behind the syndicate."
