The Forum of Insurance Lawyers, (FOIL), has appointed Neil McLaughlin, partner in law firm Morgan Cole, as its new president.
McLaughlin took over from Keoghs' Andrew Underwood at the association's AGM last week. The presidency is a 12 month position and for McLaughlin, follows a year in the post of vice president.
Lea Brocklebank of Bond Pearce has been appointed as vice president.
FOIL was established in 1993 to represent the interests of insurance lawyers, employed both in private practice and in-house at insurers. It plays a vital role in the exchange of information and lobbying of the Government over law reform and issues of importance to the insurance industry.
McLaughlin said: "The coming year is an important one for our members. There are a host of issues to address including the Compensation Bill, reform to the compensation process, and the effect of Clementi to name but a few. It is important to make sure the views of all our members are heard and that FOIL is at the centre of the debate on proposals for reform."
