Motor insurer Highway has announced plans to close two of its offices and make 20 underwriting staff redundant in a restructure bid.
Motor insurer Highway has announced plans to review the underwriting operations at two of its offices in a restructure bid.
Highway's restructuring plan will see the formation of a single underwriting unit and the creation of three broker units.
Under the plan the underwriting operations at its Edinburgh and Chatham offices will transferred to its Brentwood office, following a period of consultation.
The cutbacks will be used to fuel future developments, it said.
Andrew Gibson, chief executive of Highway Insurance, said: "Highway has one of the lowest expense ratios among UK motor insurers. In a competitive market, it is essential that we continue to adapt our business to maintain our competitive advantage."
He added: "The restructure will help place Highway in a position to prosper in this fast changing sector."
