Kwik-Fit Insurance services has enlisted Europ Assistance to provide an emergency repair service to its 25,000 household policyholders.

Householders who are victims of a break-in or suffer burst pipes will be able to gain access to Europ Assistance's panel of specialist contractors which includes glaziers, carpenters and plumbers.

Repairs will be covered up to a maximum of £150 and will be paid direct by Europ Assistance, removing the need for the customer to meet the immediate expense of work carried out.

Bert Main, pricing manager of Kwik-Fit Insurance services, said the venture builds on the existing partnership with Europ Assistance as providers of its UK and continental motor breakdown services.

He said: "When we came to look for a supplier of our domestic homecare emergency service, Europ Assistance was the natural choice."

Main added: "Customer satisfaction is critical to us and we know that Europ Assistance can deliver above and beyond our customers' expectations."

Martin Oakley, head of marketing at Europ Assistance, responded: "This is a key business win for us, and provides yet another example of how we are continuing to grow by building on existing business."

Launched in 1998, Kwik-Fit Insurance Services is an arm of the Kwik-Fit motor repair franchise.

Its 850 staff provide motor, household and travel insurance and last year its Lanarkshire-based call centre was voted the best in Scotland, in a poll of 35 such centres conducted by BPS Teleperformance.
