Managing general agent (MGA) Aqueous Underwriting has secured A+ rated capacity to launch a new solicitors product following broker demand.

A statement released today (21 August 2023) said the new product would be provided on an excess layer basis and be available to UK partner firms who have fee income up to £5m.

Aqueous said the A+ rated capacity will provide brokers with “stability and security”, whilst the product will enable them to meet the needs of their solicitor clients.

Chief underwriting officer Mark Ford said: “The Aqueous team have experience in writing Solicitors PI, so our brokers asked us to deliver the Aqueous proposition to excess layers in this niche area.

“We are excited to launch this new product using A+ rated security.”

Features

The product will have limits of up to £5m and can write layers attaching from £2m for partnerships and £3m for limited liability partnerships.

It also includes total conveyancing of up to 50%, with a maximum of 25% from commercial conveyancing.
