’We know cyclists are already using tools like ChatGPT to plan routes and compare kit – and their specialist insurance should be no different,’ says chief executive

Digital MGA Ripe has launched a ChatGPT app for its specialist cycling insurance product Cycleplan.

Developed in house, the launch of the app marks the next step in the firm’s digital distribution strategy.

It will enable users to get an instant, accurate quote via conversational artificial intelligence (AI). The app then links customers directly to complete their purchase on the product website.

Alan Thomas, chief executive at Ripe, said:We know cyclists are already using tools like ChatGPT to plan routes and compare kit – and their specialist insurance should be no different.

”By launching this app, we’re meeting customers where they are and giving them a straightforward and conversational way to explore their insurance options, understand the cover available to them and get a quote quickly and easily.”

’Highly scalable approach’

The new ChatGPT app was designed to support early customer engagement while reducing friction in the quote journey.

Andrew Harrington, chief information officer at Ripe, added: “We have created a platform that can plug into new environments and support different ways for customers to access our products.

”ChatGPT is the latest example of that highly scalable approach in action and it gives us a strong foundation for future digital distribution.”
