‘Customers should have peace of mind as soon as they have purchased their instrument,’ says divisional director
Musical instrument insurance firm Lark Music has partnered with Gibson Garage London to offer free, 12-month, point-of-sale insurance coverage on Gibson and Epiphone guitars priced above £1,500.

Lark Music, a subsidiary of Howden, said that 82% of guitar insurance claims occur while travelling and during everyday journeys and that the new partnership would “provide players, for the first time, with guitar protection as soon as they leave the shop”.
The policy will be available to any UK resident that purchases a Gibson or Epiphone guitar valued at more than £1,500 from Gibson Garage London and will cover accidental damage, loss and theft with both repair and replacement.
Peace of mind
Wynne Hamilton, divisional director at Lark Music, said: “Our data showed us that insurance shouldn’t start when you get the chance to contact your insurer.

“Customers should have peace of mind as soon as they have purchased their instrument, as the average travel claim is around 25% higher in value than a non-travel related claim.
“It’s important to us that we partner with brands like Gibson Garage London as it allows us to place protection exactly where it is needed – in the hands of players as they walk out with their new guitar.”
