Why did you put yourselves forward for the Personal Lines Broker of the Year award?

BGL Insurance – part of Markerstudy Distribution – is delighted to be shortlisted for the prestigious Personal Lines Broker of the Year award.

Our culture is important to us and our guiding pillars of customer, commercials, colleagues and community help us to deliver valuable impact across a wide range of key areas.

We are passionate about collaboration, delivering value as a team and creating an environment for our people to thrive in.

We felt that this category was the ideal platform to showcase what we believe in, talk about the impact we’ve had and demonstrate that we are about much more than just the ‘numbers’.

What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?

We’ve delivered significant impact in many areas over the last 12 months. Key achievements include:

  • Delivering market-leading digital functionality that embeds our technology into a banking partner’s mobile app, transforming the way their customers are able to transact with them.
  • Launching an innovative new motor insurance proposition called nutshell – in partnership with Covea Insurance – which is designed to help younger families find competitive, feature rich, digital insurance.
  • Introducing a new reward and wellbeing programme for our colleagues that includes extensive training and development, celebrates the return to office and advent of hybrid working, team building ESG activity, senior management live broadcasts along with ‘lunch and learn’ events to support engagement and collaboration.

What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Our team would be over the moon if we won the award. 2023 has been a fantastic year for us, and Markerstudy Distribution as a whole, and we’ve achieved some significant milestones.

External recognition of this magnitude would underscore the path that we are on and energise our colleagues to deliver even more for our customers in 2024 and beyond!
