’The company’s commitment to innovation and its broker-focused approach aligns perfectly with my desire for creating tailored underwriting solutions,’ says appointee

Jensten Underwriting has appointed Kat Durling as its new director of underwriting.

The hire forms part of Jensten Underwriting’s five-year strategy to enhance its specialist product proposition and expand its footprint in the UK’s MGA market.

She will lead two of Jensten Underwriting’s four strategic priorities – expanding niche underwriting capabilities and evolving the MGA’s product roadmap in line with broker and customer demand.

Durling said she was attracted to the business due to its broker-centric approach and appetite for growth.

She said: “I’m delighted to join Jensten Underwriting at such a pivotal moment in its growth journey. The company’s commitment to innovation and its broker-focused approach aligns perfectly with my desire for creating tailored underwriting solutions.

“I am excited to start working with the team and our brokers to expand and evolve our specialist products that meet the evolving needs of brokers and their clients.”

Experience

Durling brings more than 15 years of experience to the role and has previously held senior positions at Victor Insurance, MS Amlin and Chaucer. She most recently worked at Simply Business, where she focused on product development and data-led underwriting.

Jamie Lewis, managing director at Jensten Underwriting, said Durling’s appointment would strengthen Jensten Underwriting’s ability to support brokers through targeted product innovation.

He added: “We are thrilled to welcome Durling to Jensten Underwriting. Her appointment is a game-changer for our team, bringing unparalleled expertise in product innovation and development.

“Durling’s vision and leadership will accelerate our mission to create an MGA that brokers choose for our extensive product range and specialist underwriting expertise, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our partners and their clients.”
