’I am certain this news will make many of our friends in the market smile,’ says chief executive

Specialist Lloyd’s broker BLW Insurance Brokers has appointed Danny Rose as a non executive director.

Rose, who brings almost four decades of London market expertise, was a founding architect JRP Underwriting and served as an executive director and senior underwriter. He retired from the firm last year.

BLW said his appointment signalled its intent to accelerate its expansion plans while maintaining its position as an independent, owner-operated Lloyd’s broker.

“This is a game changing moment for BLW,” said chief executive Brett Sainty.

“I am certain this news will make many of our friends in the market smile. Rose is a class act – a legend in the market. We first crossed paths in the mid-90s and have maintained a trading relationship throughout his illustrious career at JRP until his retirement last year.

“Having his strategic guidance as we enter our next explosive growth phase isn’t just a career high for me personally – it’s validation of everything we’re building at BLW.”

Rose added: “After nearly four decades in the London market, I’m excited to support a genuinely independent broker with the vision and values that built Lloyd’s reputation.

“BLW represents everything I believe the market needs more of – an entrepreneurial spirit, client focus and the financial strength that comes from smart, debt-free growth.

“Sainty and his team have built something special and I’m delighted to help them take it to the next level.”
