‘His knowledge of governance, public policy and corporate affairs will make him an invaluable addition to our board,’ says chairman

Lloyd’s syndicate Aegis London has appointed Robert Blue as a new non-executive director and board member.

Blue is a member of the board of Aegis – the syndicate’s parent company – as well as the chair, president and chief executive at electric and natural gas utility company Dominion Energy.

The new appointee is also the chair of the Nuclear Power Operations committee, as well as a board member of the Edison Electric Institute and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

The syndicate said the appointment “reinforces Aegis London’s commitment to ensuring its board reflects the breadth of governance and financial experience and expertise needed to support its continued growth”.

It also said the move “supports the business’ intent to remain at the forefront of Lloyd’s and the global specialty insurance market, through building its leadership expertise”.

Invaluable addition

Tom Busher, non-executive chairman at Aegis London, said: “We are delighted to welcome Blue to the Aegis London board.

“His knowledge of governance, public policy and corporate affairs will make him an invaluable addition to our board, as we continue to strengthen our expertise, enhance our offerings and navigate the evolving risk landscape.”

The new appointee added: “I am pleased to be joining Aegis London’s board. As one of Lloyd’s leading syndicates it is a respected name within the market. I look forward to contributing to its success and supporting its commitment to excellence.”
