’My goal as CCO is to bridge the gap between capacity capital and technical execution,’ says new appointee
MGA incubator Mission has appointed Tom Hill as its new UK and European chief commercial officer (CCO).

In his new role, Hill will drive the commercial strategy and help identify the next generation of high-performance MGAs.
He brings a combination of underwriting, DUA placement and MGA founding experience to the business.
“I have spent my career exclusively in the MGA sector and I know that sustainable growth is rooted in adaptability and underwriting discipline,” Hill said.
”Having walked the path from initial launch to scaling to 25,000+ policyholders, I understand the friction points founders face. My goal as CCO is to bridge the gap between capacity capital and technical execution, ensuring our existing and prospective MGAs have not just the financial backing, but the underwriting architecture required to outperform the market.”
‘Technical underwriter’
Most recently, he served as head of international placement at Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers International following its acquisition of Innovisk Capital Partners, where he led capacity and underwriting enhancements across more than 40 in-house MGAs.

Ross Dingwall, chief executive of Mission in the UK and Europe, said: “Mission is home to the market’s most ambitious underwriters and to support them, we needed a commercial leader who speaks their language.
“Hill isn’t just a strategist, he is a technical underwriter who has spent his entire career in the global MGA market. He understands the granular mechanics of pricing models, binding authorities and capacity management because he has built them himself.
”This technical empathy is vital as we help our portfolio companies navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape.”

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
