Direct Commercial (DCL) has appointed Ian White as its new head of retail for new business.

In his new role, White will lead the retail facing segment of the business, enhancing broker propositions and strengthening DCL’s presence in the broker channel.

His remit will include driving growth in new business, improving product competitiveness and aligning underwriting strategy with broker and market needs.

White joins from Century Underwriting, where he served as managing director for over four years.

Steering the motor market  

For over three decades in the industry, White has developed expertise in commercial motor, fleet underwriting and broker relationships.

This appointment underlines the firm’s commitment to invest in leadership, innovation and broker support at a time of growth in the commercial motor market.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
