Software house Open GI has appointed Stuart Walters to the role of non-executive director.
Walters currently serves as the part-time chief technology officer at manufacturing firm Trinity Cups. He was previously chief information officer at Parcel2Go and strategy and technology executive at BGL.
In his new position, Walters will reunite with Open GI’s current chair Peter Thompson, who served as BGL’s chief executive between 2018 and 2022.
The firm said his appointment is aimed at supporting the “acceleration of tech development and transformation at Open GI”.

Simon Badley, chief executive at Open GI, said: “Walters is a fantastic addition to our team of non-executive directors.

”His appointment is reflective of our investment into bringing in the right talent for Open GI and his unparallelled expertise will accelerate our growth and evolution as a critical specialist technology partner to the insurance sector.”
The new appointee added: “Open GI is at an exciting point in its lifecycle and I am delighted to be joining the talented and dedicated team and to come back to the world of insurance.
“I’m also pleased to be reuniting with Thompson to support Open GI to grow and continue helping its customers to operate more efficiently and profitably. I am looking forward to supporting Open GI to develop and deliver a fresh tech offering to underpin the future of the insurance sector.”
