‘We’re all excited and energised to deliver more commercial success knowing that in doing so, we can give back even more to society,’ says new appointee
Francois-Xavier Boisseau has been appointed as the new chair of the Benefact Group and its subsidiary Ecclesiastical Insurance.
Boisseau, currently a non-executive director at Ecclesiastical Insurance, will take over from David Henderson, who has been appointed as the new chair at the Benefact Trust.
Benefact Trust is the charitable owner of the Benefact Group and distributes the profits from its financial services businesses into charity initiatives.
Boisseau said: “I am delighted and feel incredibly privileged that I will chair the group through its next exciting phase of growth.
”We’re all excited and energised to deliver more commercial success knowing that in doing so, we can give back even more to society.”
Henderson added: “It’s been such a pleasure to be part of the Benefact Group’s success story in recent years, its commerciality combined with conscience is truly special. I’m therefore thrilled to take on the chair role of its charitable owner, the Benefact Trust, whose mission to transform lives and communities is increasingly relevant in today’s world.”
Support and guidance
The new appointments are scheduled to take place on 31 December 2025, at the expiration of the term of current Benefact Trust chair, Tim Carroll.

Mark Hews, chief executive at Benefact Group, said: “Henderson has been a tremendous source of support and guidance for the group, which has helped us double in size and give over £250m to good causes in recent years – a stunning achievement.
“I am delighted that Henderson will continue to work with us, taking over the baton from Carroll, current chair of the Benefact Trust, who himself has overseen a transformational programme of giving to people and communities both in the UK and overseas.
“We are also really excited that Boisseau will become chair of the Benefact Group at what is pivotal point in our development.”
